The 3:16 Mission Fish is the bait that started it all. The first truely weedless swimbait, it was released in 2000 after 2 years of research and development. The
3:16 Mission Fish was designed to allow anglers to put big baits in places where big baits had never gone before. With it''s weedless design, you can fire the Mission Fish back in the tullies, work it over and through tree branches, or shake the bait through heavy grass beds. The three factors of; big bait, slow presentation, and heavy cover make the
3:16 Mission Fish a big bass catching machine.
Many anglers have also discovered the
316 Mission Fish to be the ultimate sight fishing swimbait for trophy largemouth. Jed Dickerson and Mac Weakley proved this in a big way in 2003 by boating monster bass weighing 21lbs 11.2oz and 19lbs 8oz respectively! Jed''s bass is the number 4 bass on the Bassmaster Top 25 list, and the largest bass taken on an artificial lure in 14 years. The
316 Mission Fish excels as a sight fishing lure because of it''s realism (due to the hidden hook design) and the fact that when you hook a large bass, the lure slides up the hook making it more difficult for the bass to spit the hook.
The
316 Mission Fish is available in 6 colors and 6 sizes. The specifications on the bait are as follows:

I found the bait to swim very well for such a small tail. I have done very well on Clearlake pitching this bait into the tules and crawling it back to the boat. Like previously stated set the hook like a frog bite with a second or two delay for a better hookup ratio. Great bait. d.c.

The best weedless swimbait

I got the Mission Fish and wasn't impressed at first because the size of the tail is much smaller than I thought. I got the 5" version and the tail didn't seem like it would even kick in the water. I casted it into some trees when fish were holding tight to cover and really liked the kick of the tail. It swam much more than I expected and did great in the trees. It is completely weedless and has a heavy enough head that it can be fished in deeper water. The color schemes are very good looking and resemble bait fish well. I have only used the 5" version, but I'm sure all sizes will produce big fish. Fish like to stay in deep cover and with the weedless Mission Fish, you can fish places that are impossible with any other swimbait. Anybody who fishes deep cover will really appreciate the Mission Fish. SBN:TNT

Best for pitchin

This is a swimbait that does not swim very well. It does however get five stars for being the most productive bait of this type for throwing into places that you would not throw other swimbaits. There are many different colors to choose from, reasonable pricing, and good durability. The hooks that come with it are very high quality. This bait excels in the weeds. Just cast it out over a weed bed, hop it through, drag it, or even dead stick it on the bottom. Any way that you fish this, you should do well. SN name: bd pettit

My first swimbait fish on the delta came on a pearl Mission Fish. 8 lbs. even. Many more have come since then. Very efficient bait that will go through any type of cover and good in open water. It has the ability to hook up at any point. You get more bang for your buck. Durability is an issue but that's what they make glue for. BTW: I haven't been as successful with imitations......Doc

Variable bait

The diversity of this bait makes it unlike any other baits I own. This bait can be slow-rolled, pitched, flipped or fished like a jig. Because of this variability it is a must have bait. The longevity of the bait can be enhanced greatly by tending small tears immediately with Mend-it or a similar product.
