the B2-another great balsa square bill from Bagley

The B2 is the medium size of the Bagley square bills and is the one I use most often. I like it when looking for fish in the 15 inch range. The main reason I use the Bagley square bills is most plastic square bills dive deeper while the buoyant balsa keeps the B2 at the 3ft range. Also when stopped it floats up quickly away from snags. When fishing grass I like the other square bills as well as the Bagleys but for fish wood you cant beat a wood crankbait. This is the only bait I throw around shallow laydowns when I am looking for keeper size bites. With wooden crankbaits castability is a concern but with the B2 its not a problem. The colors on these baits aren't great but they are mainly a bait for murky water and the Chartreuse Black is fine for most of the time. The only thing is these baits get banged up easy but that's part of using wooden baits. I suggest you cover any cracks with some type of sealant. I use fingernail polish but anything will work. Also keep in mind these baits aren't the most durable. They aren't the most versatile baits but they are the best big crankbaits I have used for fishing less than 3ft deep around wood. Not only that I would say they are the best bait for power fishing big fish around shallow wood. A common scenario in some areas.
