The Original Balsa B1 is now available the way
it was originally made with "Ultra" Select Balsa for superior
buoyancy. You will find the original fat body shape, original square lip and
original brass hardware... All providing you the original Balsa B action which
is the trademark action of Jim Bagley's world famous lures. The distinctive wide
rolling action is often referred to by sportswriters as "The Winners
Edge." Balsa wood construction just plain bounces better, providing
sensitivity better than any other material.

If your looking for a wooden shallow diver that is a bit smaller the BB1 would be hard to beat. It isn't a big as its brothers but it catch big fish with any of them and is nice option to have. I use my BB1 at two times when I am looking for smaller keepers and when I am fishing the shallowest water with the heaviest cover. It doesn't dive as deep as the other BB series baits which comes in handy at times especially in backwater areas. The BB1 doesn't cast as well as the others but comes through cover as well as any bait I have seen. For fishing shallow lay downs its difficult to beat. You can pull bass out of spots with this bait you couldn't with others. Also there are times when I am so far up the river other wooden baits are dragging debris on the bottom. The hooks are OK and may need sharpened but they will get the job done. The bait is wooden so they will bet beaten up and eventually need to be replaced but its hard to duplicate what a wooden square bill can do around shallow cover. The BB1 isn't a cure all bait but it is a nice option if you like shallow cranking.
