Without question this line in 20-25# test is by far the number one choice of swimbaiters. Although I use braid and fluorocarbon on some of my swimbait reels, this is absolutely a great choice for the reels I choose to put mono on. There are issues as with all mono products but the durability of this line is superior compared to most similar products. I have never had any not knot breakage issues and I have not ever broken the 20#+ tests on a fish. If a guy was only going to own one swimbait reel, this line is what he should put on it. Bass_Daddy

My favorite heavy mono

When I want to pick a heavy mono line I want 1 thing-a tough line. This is where Big Game excels it is holds up really well and I have never had a random breakoff. Its not the best casting lines but when throwing big baits or flipping it does fine. Thats tradeoff you get because better casting monos seem softer and nick up easier which can lead to weak spots. If I want a limber line I usually am using something lighter anyway but for throwing big baits or shortline presentation big game is hard to beat. I seem to go with 20pd most of the time but I do occasionally spool up some 17lb. One thing I have noticed is that since the line is tough and a little stiff you need to moisten your knot and tighten it slowly. If you dont it rubs the line hard next to the knot and weakens it. But I still have never had a breakoff but I dont chances. If you need a durable monofilament then Big Game is hard to beat.

I have been using Big game for years. My experiences have pretty much only been with 15-25#. Might be a little stiff but for how tough of line it is its actualy fairly limp and very castable on 200-400 levelwind reels. I once landed a 60+ crome salmon in the river on 15# big game. The fish ran through a brush pile and would not budge I tried to break the fish off but ended up breaking branches and the fight was back on. even after being ripped through rocks and branches big game stood tough and enabled me to land this fish of a lifetime. If I would have been using a lesser line it would not have stood up to the abuse that that fish put it through. You can not find a better line for the price. Excelent line for swimbait fishing. review by sethb

Swimbait Line

This is the single best line that I have found for throwing swimbaits. This is some of the toughest monofilament that I have ever seen, which is necessary when throwing big baits (hudd, bbz, castaic, etc.). This bait also excels with smaller swimbaits (matt's gill, baby wake etc.). Castability is great. The feel through the line is about average for mono, however after letting the line sit on a reel for a month or so, there are some memory issues. This is nothing that can't be fixed though. Just tie the line to something solid and stretch enough line out for an average cast. Pull the line tight and hold. This should eliminate any memory issues that may occur. I have used 15-30 pound and have never found anything to complain about.
