The new molded Punkers rock. I like the option of having rattles in the bait for darker/murky water. It would also make a killer night bait. The paint jobs are great and the hardware is stout. As a painter, these are a lot easier to work with than the wood ones. The old woodies still have their place, but at that price, the new ones will come out on top.

Since I just got this bait three days ago and everywhere here in Utah is frozen, I haven't caught any fish with it yet. However, I did get to go throw it and try it out at a local pond and was very impressed. I got the 6" flash trout color and it is a great paint job. I added a few extra black dots using a sharpie, but its just personal preference. The bait is exactly 6" and is a smaller profile than the original Lunker Punker. The rattles are a very cool feature and will call fish from deep water for sure. The walk is tighter than the original, but has a very cool action and the rattles are very loud. It can have a wide or narrow "walk" depending on how hard you twitch the rod. It is very easy to walk the dog with this bait and would be a good learner for anybody. I am excited to use this lure because I know it will produce some pigs. The colors and sizes are perfect and are very realistic. SBN:TNT

I purchased one of these about a week after BTD got them in stock. I bought the Jr. in white. I used it right away and was not disappointed with the action. I really liked the action even though it was a little different than the original. The plastic punkers seem to have a tighter walking action than the wooden ones. This could be ideal when a faster presentation is necessary. Durability seems to be the greatest strength with the new punkers.

Because I LOVE the originals, I bought one of these molded versions as soon as it hit the market. The paint job is spectacular and I like the fact that it makes an awesome noise when it's walked...should call in the big girls in murky/stained water and in low-light conditions. I haven't had any serious issues with the originals, but I think this version will prove to be more durable. We'll see. Bass_Daddy

When I heard a new Lunker Punker was being released from Black Dog, I knew I had to have one. BTD was the first to have one, so I got one ordered. Upon getting it, I was surprised to see that the bait looked awesome for not being the usual wood Black Dog bait. It came with quality hooks. It has a loud rattle to it, and a swooping motion just like the original Punker. My only problem with it was the hooks wore down the paint during the first outing, but that could be fixed by touching up with a silver sharpie. Great bait, for a great price!
