The Bomber Bait
Company is the outgrowth of the fishing experiences of two Texas “fishin’
buddies”…Ike Walker and C.S. Turbeville. Avid anglers in the mid-thirties and
early forties, they spent most of their fishing time on North Texas
impoundments, filled with trees and brush. This kind of fishing caused all sorts
of problems for these early “structure” fisherman. The lures on the market at
that time did not meet their needs…they wanted a lure that they could get down
deep, and yet one that wasn't always “hangin’-up”.
To meet this special, and growing need, these enterprising anglers began to
create and field test lure shapes they carved from discarded cedar power poles,
given to them by the local power company. Walker and Turbeville crafted their
lures metal parts from discarded tobacco cans. Hooks were taken from old lures,
sharpened and mounted on their latest models. During WWII such materials were
not readily available, thus they had to be creative in their pursuit of the
“perfect lure.” By 1946, these anglers-turned-lure-designers founded the Bomber
Bait Company. Their modest production facility was headquartered in Turbeville’s
garage.
During the early years, the only lure made and sold was the now famous
Bomber. In the early 1960’s, they began to design and produce other styles of
lures. It was then they met, and later employed, a noted local angler, Floyd
Mabry. Mabry traveled throughout the country fishing with leading outdoor
writers, distributors and tackle shop owners, demonstrating the virtues of
fishing with Bomber baits. Mabry became a true fishing legend when he was
inducted into the “Fishing Hall of Fame.” Until his death in 1991, Mabry could
be found almost every day, living his legend…fishing on his favorite lake, using
his favorite lure…a Bomber.
Bomber Fat Free Shad - This is the original Fat Free Shad that started a
crankbait revolution in 1995. Mark Davis’ BASS Masters Classic victory was the
shot heard ’round the world for the Fat Free Shad, which coincidentally made its
debut on the market just weeks after Davis’ victory. Davis credited the new
crankbait with winning him competitive fishing’s biggest prize. The three inch
3/4 ounce Fat Free Shad boasts an enticing tight wobble, kick-out paddle, 3-D
eyes, a realistic scale finish and Excalibur Rotating Treble Hooks. 3" 3/4OZ
7.62cm 23g 14-18ft #4 hooks. The Fat Free Shad is available in fourteen

Bomber Fat Free Shad Fingerling - The 2 3/8 inch Fat Free Fingerling is
just the right size for most crankbait situations. This lure is winning bass
tournaments across the country and has established itself as a multi-species
fish-catcher. The Fingerling, available in floating models covers water in the 8
to 10 foot range. Like all Fat Free Shads, the Fingerling features a kick-out
paddle, a tight waddle and XCalibur Tx3 Rotating Treble Hooks. 2 3/8", 3/8oz,

Bomber Fat Shad Jr - The Bomber Fat Free Shad Junior is one of the most
utilized fishing lures of professional big fish anglers because it operates in
depths (8-14 ft.) that big fish are often found. The Bomber Fat Free Shad Jr.
has great castability, a tight wiggle and a pulsating vibration that is
unmatched for its size. Much like its bigger brother, the Original Fat Free
Shad, the Fat Free Shad Jr. has become a staple of crankbait fishermen
everywhere. The Fat Free Shad Jr model is 2 1/2" in length and weighs 1/2oz. We
offer this bait in seven different colors.
Bomber Model A - If you were limited to only one crankbait, you'd do well
making it a Model A Bomber. A staple with avid fishermen for decades, the Model
A's timeless design, workhorse durability and true running dependability, define
the meaning of a Go to lure. What makes a bait legendary? It has to catch fish.
Lots of them and do it again and again. That's the Bomber Model A. A proven
performer. The Model A comes in three different sizes: the BO6A is 2 1/8",
weighs 3/8oz and dives from 6' to 8' . The BO7A is 2 5/8", weighs 1/2oz and
dives from 8' to 10'. The BO8A is 3", weighs 5/8oz and dives from 10' to 13'.

Bomber Fat A - The Bomber Fat "A" Series of fishing lures is designed to
deliver a buoyancy characteristic equal to or greater than wooden crankbaits.
The "fatter," more buoyant body design also provides more internal space for
additional ultra-sound rattles, making the Fat "A" Series the loudest among
similarly sized crankbaits. Great bass fishing lures. The Bomber Fat A comes in
two models: the BO5F is 2" in length, weighs 3/8oz and dives from 6' to 8' . The
BO6F is 2 1/4" in length, weighs 5/8oz and dives from 8' to 10'. This lure is
currently offered in six different colors.
Bomber Flat A - This Bomber Lures flat-sided crankbait fishing lure
generates a tight, vibrating action that is a great choice for cool and clear
water situations. With near-neutral buoyancy, this fishing lure has a slow rise
and can be cast for distance. Use the Bomber Flat A crankbaits for bass fishing.
The Bomber Flat A cranks at depths of 3-5 feet and trolls in the range of 5-6
feet. At 2 1/2 inches, the Flat A weighs 3/8 of an ounce and is equipped with
Excalibur Tx3 Rotating Treble Hooks. Equally effective fished painstakingly slow
or burned for a reaction bite. The Flat a is available in eight different
