The Super spot may not be flashy it looks the same as it did 10 years ago. But it still catches fish. The paint jobs are ok but my favorite color is a beat up chrome anyway. The first thing you need to do is change the hooks. That being said the Spot is still a decent bait for the money. I dont use the spot all the time but it has an important role for me. While lipless crankbaits dont have diving depths some sink faster than others. Well the sspot for its size is slowest sinking one I have found. I dont know physics but I heard Timmy Horton say this and its true. You can fish a big sspot shallower than other lipless crankbaits or slower deeper than others depending on how you look at it. For Guntersville a 3/4oz spot is my go to bait and has outproduced other baits many times over the years. On a ripping retrieve it is deadly over hydrilla. And despite the low cost the super spots always seem to run true unlike some other cheaper crankbaits.
So if you fish lipless crankbaits try the spot when you need to slow down but stay out of the grass.

This is the most cost effective lipless bait that I have ever used. For under 4 dollars, you can get a bait that can do everything that most of the more expensive brands can. The lure looks good in the water and has good vibration at high speeds. I do wish that it did more at slow speeds. Great lure on a budget. SN name: bd pettit
