Huddleston Swimbaits

Huddleston Swimbait Company is Located in Mesquite Nevada, established in the year 2002 by the west
coast swimbait guru, Ken Huddleston. Ken originally was a partner in the
development of the Castaic wooden baits and eventually he branched out on his
own to create some of the most sought after swimbaits on the market. Ken put a
lot of time into the research and development of his products, setting the bar
high for other lure manufacturers to follow.
The first swimbaits introduced to the public were the 12" Huddleston Deluxe
followed by it's predecessor, the 8" Huddleston Deluxe. These premium swimbaits
set the fishing world on fire with their ultra-realistic colors and their
patended tail swimming action. Within the first year of their release, numerous
double digit bass fell victim to the Huddleston and many angler's caught their
personal best fish on these swimbaits. The 8" models feature four different
rates of fall starting with zero (floating), five (slow sink), twelve (moderate
fast sink), and sixteen (fast sink). The 8" model comes in seven different fish
catching colors: silver blue back, gold brown back, silver green back, hitch,
rainbow trout, Shasta trout, and holdover. Ken's next creative masterpiece to
hit the market was the introduction of the Deluxe Shad swimbaits which were a
resounding success to say the least. The shad swimbaits are an exact replication
of a 4 1/2" baitfish and come in five different colors and two different rates
of fall. The shad swimbait colors are black back shad, golden shad, lavender
shad, blue shad, and green shad. The rates of fall are three (slow sink) and
twelve (fast sink). In January of 2007 we saw the release of the long awaited 6"
Huddleston Deluxe which was a smaller version of it's 8" big brother. The 6"
Huddleston was an instant classic and became the favorite swimbait for a lot of
fisherman whom fish bodies of water with a fingerling stocking program. The 6"
model comes in six different colors: silver blue, golden shiner, silver green
hitch, holdover trout, juvenile trout, and baby bass. The rates of fall on the
6" are, five(slow sink) and twelve(fast sink).
Ken hit another one out of the park when he introduced the Huddleston
Huddle-Bug. This crawdad imitation bait set the standard with it's unique
balanced weighting system that keeps the bait horizontal as the bait falls
through the water column. The Huddle-bug is the real deal with it's spot on
shape, size and colors that will even fool mother nature herself. The Huddle-Bug
comes in ten different colors which perfectly match real crawdad colors of
different bodies of water and different water temperatures throughout the year.
The colors are: black/blue, brown/purple, red, green/purple, green/orange, mud
bug, watermelon, purple haze, smoke on the water, and San Diego bed bug.
The latest innovation from Huddleston is their new Phantom Series swimbaits
which feature translucent colors with a touch of reflective pearl essence in the
8" and 6" body. The Phantom series swimbaits were designed for fishing very clear
bodies of water were the fish often visually scrutinize their prey before eating
it.
So what's next from Huddleston? Ken is supposedly working on a new weedless
design that will be out soon and I'm quite sure it will surpass our expectations
just as the whole Huddleston line up has. |
