The long awaited 6 inch Huddleston has arrived. This smaller version of the legendary 8 inch Huddleston packs all the fish catching action of its big brother in a more edible size. Don't get caught playing catch up order now! The 6 inch Huddleston comes in two different fall rates 5 and 12. It was designed by one of the premier lure designers on the West Coast, Ken Huddleston. The Huddleston combines the most realistic look and swimming action we have seen. This is truly a big fish bait and very hard to come by.

The only bootail you might like better than the Huddleston Deluxe
Michael Carter (Winchester, KY) 2/11/2009 11:59 AM
While the Huddleston Deluxe may be the most popular bootail the 6inch may be the most versatile. If your not targeting 6lb fish then this might be the bait for you. It is still a bait that could catch bigger fish but is more appealing to the standard tournament kicker fish. I have the bass pattern which is incredible and gives me a go to bait anywhere. It looks like a spotted bass a little and could pass for a trout from underneath in the bass point of view. Aside from being bite size the 6inch also isn't the load to cast like the 8inch Huddleston. You can cast it on smaller swimbait outfits and it wont wear you out as quick. If nothing else it could be a breather bait for the guys who like chucking the bigger version. I like fishing mine with a steady slow retrieve. One of the few baits that this works really well. The only downside I see with these is the fact that they wont do a 180. If you get a follower just give it a couple quick jerks and don't stop it and hope for the best. I also add a stinger to mine either 1/0 or 2/0 treble attached with heavy braid and if I think there are alot of smaller fish I want to catch I will take it all the way back to the second fin. If your fishing over deep water or open water or fishing up high in the water column I would add the treble to the belly. It lets you catch a few more fish. I like a 1/0 red treble myself. With the new cheaper price these are a must have item if you are serious about swimbaits. I would go with the 5rof form standard fishing and the 12 if you want to fish near the bottom. Like I said I love the bass pattern but I wish they had a regular trout pattern in the 6in. sb-mrbassky1

The most realistic trout swimbait
Trevor Tippetts (Salt Lake City, UT) 1/25/2009 11:55 PM
I got the Phantom Trout R.O.F. 12 and I am very happy with the combination. The color of the Phantom Trout is perfect for clearer water conditions and looks like a real trout. The bait sinks with the nose down just like it said it would and on a slow retrieve, the tail has a slow, subtle, fluid motion just like a injured trout. This bait can be fished fast, slow-rolled, bounced on the bottom, twitched, or anything you can think of. The profile of the bait is awesome and is exactly 6". I added a stinger hook to the top hook because I will be fishing this bait on the bottom, but is the perfect size for Smallmouth or Largemouth bass to inhale. This is the most realistic trout swimbait I have ever seen and will add many more to my arsenal. I highly recommend the Phantom Trout color to anybody, especially people fishing clear water because it gives fish a good outline. This is the original and the best trout swimbait out. SBN:TNT

Just can't beat it for the price
Tree Plumbtree (Rancho Murieta, CA) 1/20/2009 6:17 PM
I've been throwing the 8 inch version since Ken introduced it, so when he came out with the 6 inch version I was all over it. I still throw the larger version more than this model, but this bait has proven to be an effective tool. I have yet to catch a DD on one but I have caught several quality fish between 4 and 7 pounds. It is an awesome small mouth bait and I have caught some huge spotted bass with them. With the recent price reduction you just can't go wrong with purchasing these baits in a couple different ROF's. great subtle action
Brent Pettit (Osgood, IN) 1/11/2009 1:35 PM
I have only fished the ROF 5 and absolutely love it. This was the first hudd that I purchased, and I could not be happier. Now that the prices are reduced, I have no reason to buy any competitor (Baitsmith, ABT). The bait has a great subtle action and can be swimmed at most depths. If the ROF 5 doesn't get deep enough for you, go with the ROF 12. The key with all Hudds is just go fish it.

I Can't Wait ...
Brian P (Las Vegas, NV) 1/8/2009 1:05 PM
Perfect sized bait for non-trophy lakes. I was finally able to pick up a couple of these the other day and can't wait to get out on the lake. The famous Huddleston deluxe but in a smaller size should tear up the better fish out here in Southern Nevada and Southern Utah ... I am psyched!!! Swimbait Nation: bfishin.
