I bought the Giron two years ago, and still use it today. There are many other larger bluegill imitators, but for this size, this may be the best. It does not have a really good bluegill swimming motion, but it gives off a really good profile in the water. The lure is very sensitive to retrieval speed, but is good at covering water fairly quickly. SN name: bd pettit

This bait didn't sink as fast as I hoped, but it has a very cool action and looks very good when twitched. The bait runs about a foot below the surface on a normal retrieve and swims like an injured baitfish. If you let the bait sink to the bottom, it will rest on its hooks. I have only caught a few small fish on it, but it does have potential for some of the bigger fish. The newer colors are very cool and look more realistic. SBN: TNT

Giron-the snack size bluegill swimbait

While Bluegill swimbaits are nothing new a lure like the Giron is. First off the size is much more numbers friendly than most bluegill swimbaits or any swimbaits for that matter. While listed at 4in the lure looks closer size of a large square bill than a swimbait. The color selection which has just been expanded is impressive like any Jackall product (especially the ghost colors). The price is also very angler friendly costing only a fraction more than a Lucky Craft crankbait. Like its the size the action of this lure is unlike any other swimbait. Instead of a tight wiggle this lure exhibits a wide swimming almost spoonlike fluttering action. At first I was dissapointed honestly but I soon found out fish seemed to like the action which is all we really care about. But the lure is more versatile than just a swimming lure. My best success has came while waking the lure which can be done with a high rod tip and a fast retrieve. The lure can also be twitched which combined with the bulit in gliding action of the lure gives it another action that I have not seen duplicated. And of course with practice the lure can preform a 180. For fishability the lure is great weighing in at 3/4oz it can be cast easily on most standard baitcasters and unlike most swimbaits can be fished more like a spinnerbait on specific targets in shallower water. For a tournament lure the Giron is ideal. But perhaps the biggest suprise I think is how well we will all find the Giron fishes for bedding bass. The lure is heavy enough to drop where you want it so in sandy or gravel areas snagging shouldnt be an issue. The seems to have a nack for landing on the bottom on its trebles. And best of all it has two trebles for short striking fish. And while looking for beds it doubles as a fan casting lure. While not perfect it is not weedless (it does work well over weeds) the Giron should have a place in tackleboxs across the country a claim few swimbaits can make.
