Lucky Craft Waketail 85

Your Low Price: $16.99

The Lucky Craft Wake Tail comes standard with only a tail propeller. It contains ball bearings for ultra-low friction during the retrieve. The tail propeller rotates even if there is very little rod movement and the action is possible within a variety of water conditions. It has the same action as a small, weak fish floundering at the surface, which helps attract fish from long distances.

The Lucky Craft Wake Tail is part of the next generation of topwater baits from Lucky Craft. The features of this bait include a ball bearing mounted prop for super smooth action, the weight transfer system, which maximizes casting distance, and a feather tail, to create an attack point. This 3.25 inch, 3/8 oz. bait is designed to be walked, ripped, or fished stop and go. The Lucky Craft Wake Tail represents another effective tool that topwater fishermen can add to their arsenal.

My favorite single propbait

If you are a fan of topwater baits this should be something you consider trying. You can use the waketail like a regular sammy walking the dog or you cant stop and go like you would a torpedo. The thing that impressed me the most about this bait is the fact that the propeller spins great. Even the slightest movement makes it spin. Of course the hooks are great as well as the paint jobs its a Lucky Craft. The best thing about this bait is if you are fishing banks with scattered cover you can walk it when you need to speed up between cover and slow down and around isolated cover. I use the clear ghost color in the clearest water as a walking bait on bright days. The extra splash brings fish up and the clear bait gets strikes. If I could only have 5 topwaters this would be one of them. sb-mrbassky1

The wake tail is a great topwater fishing lure. You can fish it like a sammy, you can stop and go with it, or you can do a straight retrieve, though I don't recommend it. I do have one complaint with this and all lucky craft lures, the paint job. The paint will scratch after the third or fourth time out. This is not a big deal, I mean the fish can't tell. Overall this is a great topwater lure. SN: BASS
