Luhr Jensen Speed Traps

The speed trap is one of the best plastic crankbaits you can buy for the money. Its great early in the year but also fished fast as a search bait. It can be ripped through grass or worked through wood. I have caught 5lb fish off lay downs on it and 3lb fish in grass on it. One the days when you need to cover water and don't know what bait to pick go with a speed trap. It can catch fish anywhere fish are shallow. The smaller size is great 3-6 ft the bigger one is great 4-8ft. I love the colors and the hooks are surprisingly quality. The speed trap is one the best running baits I ever used at high speeds. It casts great and is the work horse of shallow divers. One thing I will mention the speed trap is durable but can be broke so try and be careful and don't slap grass off of it. Its one of the few baits I use year round and is the crankbait I go with when I don't know what to use. Alot of pros swear by speed traps and many use them and don't talk about them for good reason. This is easily the best crankbait that I have ever used for fishing rip rap. The square lip deflects off of everything in its way. When it does hang up, I can usually get it to pop free because it floats very quickly. This is a great numbers lure, as well as big fish. There is something about the way it bounces off rocks that triggers bigger bites.
