Its cheap and it works. Just wet it and give it 3 slow firm steady licks to the hook at the 3 angles-back and two facing each other on the barb side. I had mine forever if you don't lose it you will get your moneys worth out of this item. Just don't over sharpen or you will weaken your hook. What I like about these are you know when you sharpened your hook. Just don't get carried away most new hooks are sharp enough these days. But check your hooks regularly while fishing they will dull while fishing that goes double when fishing around rocks. sb-mrbassky1
