Good small swimbait
Brent Pettit (Osgood, IN) 1/13/2009 1:03 AM
Much like the bluegill, the swimming action can be used at many different speeds. it has a very subtle action when slow rolled, but can also be reeled fast and has a thump to it like a spinnerbait. Also has some of the best paint jobs the I have ever seen, just like all of Matt's products. This is a must have for all east coast swimbait anglers. SN name: bd pettit

good first swimbait
Trevor Tippetts (Salt Lake City, UT) 1/12/2009 2:26 PM
the mattlures baby bass was one of the first swimbaits i bought and it has been a very good bait. the size is perfect for the beginning swimbaiter to gain confidence because any size fish will eat this bait. it has a good swimming motion and a good detailed color job. the smallmouth bass is the color i had. i put a frog hook on the bottom of the bait to increase hookups, but the hook on the bottom is the reason i lost this bait. i will replace it someday, but it was a very good swimbait to start out with and gain the confidence needed to start chuckin the bigger stuff. smaller swimbait but big fish
brian barnett (santa maria, CA) 12/17/2008 9:53 PM
This bait emphasizes "that elephants really do eat peanuts", I like using this bait in the late spring when they bass in the lake are about this size and schooled up after shad, I have caught my biggest bass at Lopez lake on it in the smallmouth pattern but the largemouth pattern works well for me too and the best part is you don't need to use a big rod to fish it. 5 stars of a bait in my opinion cali805fishing, brian

The birthplace of Swimabiting
Roman Gas (Brooklyn, NY) 12/15/2008 3:58 PM
Well for me, just like many others, this swimbait started the whole swimbait craze. I started out throwing this bait and eventually progressed to the bigger stuff. Even though I use baits that weight 5 times more than this and triple the length, I still have this bait tied on at all times. Excellent quality, realistic eyes and a very strong hook. The paint job perfectly simulates a baby bass. This bait will spiral down in the water on a slack line - just like a dying bait fish - very tempting to bass. LOVE THIS BAIT! SN: Roman G

Cheap, but good!
Kyle Chong (brentwood, CA) 12/12/2008 10:07 PM
Excellent swimbait to use a little bit after the spawn when all the fry a up to a little size. Bass eat bass, and this bait replicates a baby bass perfectly! Swims great, and can be thrown on a flipping stick if you don't already own a swimbait specific rod. I only wish Matt could make them in ROF's like Hudds. A ROF 5 would be awesome in one of these.
