| These baits will
also wake the surface at a moderate speed. But thats not where it ends!
Drop the bait down on the bottom and the bluegill will maintain a
feeding position with little or no effort from the angler. Twitch
the rod tip, and the lure “bounces” on the bottom; nose down, just
like a bluegill eating bass eggs. As you can imagine this makes them
MAD! The strikes are typically ferocious. Because of the way they “sit
” these bait can also be flipped and pitched like a jig. One of my
favorite techniques is to slowly swim them past ambush points. The
possibilities are endless. |

Most Realistic Bluegill Bait

This is the most realistic bluegill bait ever. All of Matt Lures products are great but this is by far the most detailed yet. Be sure to "set" the fins to ensure that your bait is even more realistic. This is a great bait to slow roll or fish slowly along the bottom almost like a jig, lifting, dropping and stopping. But I can't wait for the better fish out here to get on the beds, dead sticking this bait will be the ticket!!! sbn:bfishin.

Matt really outdid himself on this one. He took soft plastic swimbaits to "a whole new level". The realistic profile combined with the sweet paint jobs make this bait an instant classic. The swimming action is great and I love how it sits on the bottom. Every swimbaiter NEEDS this bait.

This bait is the most realistic soft bluegill swimbait I have ever seen. It rests on the nose, just like it says it will and gives the bass something to set them off on a bed. I boiled mine to get the fins to flair, but it didn't seem to work very well. Its still my favorite bait to throw on beds and works with a slow retrieve, but is awesome to watch fish go crazy when this bait is on their nest. SBN: TNT

More than a bed bait...

Everyone wants to talk about this bait as a bed bait and I don't blame them because it's highly effective when used that way, but I've caught some tremendous bass using it the same way I used to fish large jigs. I have caught fish in 30+ feet of water bumping it slowly on the bottom or pitching it under docks and bottom-walking it back to the boat. As I said, the techniques are similar to fishing a jig, but nobody makes a jig that looks this real! Just a classic bait.Bass_Daddy

This bait sits real well on bottom and looks as real as live bait and feels about right in weight as well.
