Powell Max Series Rods have
been committed to offering the finest equipment and customer service to
discriminating fishermen for nearly 100 years. Champion distance caster
and legendary fisherman, E. C. Powell, began building bamboo fly rods in
1910 and his creations are still considered by many to be the best
engineered rods ever built.
Today Powell Rods continues this tradition of excellence by utilizing the most
advanced materials and manufacturing techniques. They produce fishing
rods, with superior performance characteristics, that are among the
lightest and most durable in the industry. Additionally, they have a
trained customer service staff to handle your every need.
Keith Bryan has passion for rod design and development, and is an avid
fisherman. Keith had been a long-time employee when he purchased Powell
Rods in
2002. His time and energy now goes into making the next 95 years as
excellent as the first. Keith is also taking Powell into the fastest
growing segment of the fishing market today, the bass fishing market.

Swimbait Rod Review

If you want to look good and catch fish while doing it, Powell rods are for you!! I own both the 7'11"H and MH. Both rods have the "feel". Light weight but can lay the wood to that largie or striper that's looking to tangle with your bait!! The most impressive thing about both rods are there ability to cast lures through out there specified range and also throw lighter baits as well which is an A+ in my book!!SN: spooky007

I have a couple of these rods. Casting and spinning they are very light and sensitive, as well as durable. My only complaint with them is, I purchased them when they were $169. LOL. I dont thik you can go wrong for the money. SN: fcon

After reading the review on tackle tour, I decided to purchase this rod. I am glad I did, it is amazing. The feel is incredible! I throw 8 ounce swimbaits no problem. The second plus is how light it is. Only 7.4 ounces for a 7'11" Heavy action rod, incredible. You can throw large swimbaits all day no problem. I paired mine up with a shimano curado 300 E and man does it produce. I would recomend this rod to anyone.

I own several Powells, but I will be reviewing the 765 flipping stick. This rod is a great flipping, punching, frogging, jig, and small swimbait rod. Very good blank that enables you to feel every bite and every thing on the bottom. The rod has a very strong backbone to haul those fish and whatever they come with. Powells over the counter exchange service is excellent and is worth every bit. This rod is surprisingly light, and feels great with a Abu Garcia Revo SC. My favorite rod for my nasty cover deeds.
