The Smithwick Floating Super Rogue casts farther, runs truer and features unmatched durability and Rogue action. This jerkbait will run true and features a unique counter-balance weight system. The counter-balance weight shifts when the lure is cast, allowing for more distance and more accuracy when casting. In addition to the counter-balance weight system, the Super Rogue also features a unique scale pattern and a realistic eyes. This lure is also the first Rogue made with an integral paddle, making the Super Rogue stronger and truer running. "Probably as much as anything, the sound this lure makes is one of the keys to its success. The sound chamber is a part of the body on the Super Rogue and creates a natural popping sound when you jerk it."

Smithwick Floating Super Rogue

When it comes to a floating jerk bait, this is the one you want. The colors get bit and the bass seem to love them on those windy, overcast days. The only thing i found wrong with them, is the hooks seem to be a little cheap, in my opinion. I usually switch mine out for Gamakatsu round bend trebles. This is a very minor problem, and some might not feel the same and keep them on, just a personal preference. Overall a great jerk bait and I highly recommend it. (THEbassmaster)

My clear water power bait
Michael Carter (Winchester, KY) 1/7/2009 12:30 PM
When I want to cover water in warm open clear water and fish are shallow this is the bait I usually choose. I started using these a couple years ago and use them more every year. I ALWAYS do better fishing these fast with a steady cadence. I only pause for a couple seconds at the most and often I see fish follow and eat the bait. Tackle is key I use a soft 6'6m action baitcasting or spinning rod depending if I need accuracy or casting distance. I fish it on 8-10 florocarbon again light line is key I can get it to dive several feet. The action I get is a side to side walking the dog underwater with the Rouge roll thrown in. I like Gold and Silver but really I just experiment but it doesnt seem to matter a whole lot. I have caught Largemouth up to 4 and smallies up to 3 in rivers. This bait catches some of the bigger fish in clear water. I like really clear water for these the clearer the better usually when visibility is over 5ft is best but it works in water a little stained as well. Another key is to change the hooks the stock hooks aren't that good and rust quick. I use similar size red hooks not that I know they help. Some jerkbaits are good waked (bombers) others good when the float to the top (rapalas). These are good on fast cadence when they stay submerged. Light tackle and clear water are keys for these to work but for warm water I put these baits against any jerkbait when worked fast. sb-mrbassky1
