Great Trout

I got this bait because I don't have any "big" baits that sink and figured this one would be a good one to start with. When I got it, I was surprised at how heavy it is. I knew it was a heavy bait because I had done some research, but I thought would sink faster than it did because of its weight. I got the slow sink model and it sinks at 1 foot every 2 seconds just like it said. I tried plenty of different retrieves and was happy with all of them. With the slow sink, you can burn it back to the boat and make a pretty big wake. My favorite way to use it though was to slow roll it and then speed up and then kill it. The bait darts to one side and looks like a dying trout. You can also reel it in at any speed and then twitch the rod and the bait comes alive in the water and looks like it is trying to run away from a predator. Once the big fish start cruising for trout, I'm going to be throwing this bait all day. It doesn't look as big as everyone says it is and I have confidence in this bait because of its size. The flat trout color is awesome and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to imitate a rainbow trout. I haven't seen the rainbow color on these however, but I'm sure they look good as well. Its a great bait and I'm glad I got it as my first big swimbait. Anyone wanting to start with big hard baits should start with this one! Good Luck. SBN:TNT

This was the first big bait that I purchased. I had saw the trailers for the BBZ video on Youtube and really liked what I saw. I was not disappointed. This lure has everything: great swimming action, built like a tank, good paint, high quality hooks and split rings, and multiple fishing applications with the different sink rates. I have not had an overwhelming amount of success with this bait, but the fish I have hooked have all been quality. SN name: bd pettit

I have used the slow-sink, flat rainbow model for about 6 months. However, no luck with it yet. It swims great, looks great, and feels like you're casting a cinder-block. I would recommend a lower, gear ratio reel though. I have a Curado 200E7, and I need to reel very slowly while fishing the bait. Judging by some of the videos I've seen, it needs to be fished very s-l-o-w.

I have a small "school" of BBZ-1s and they do catch fish. The lures have a great action and they give you lots of options if you have all three ROFs.
I've had limited success on bass, mainly because the lake I throw a lot of swimbaits on has dense weedbeds and the open mouth tends to pick up the weed. I live near some decent pike water and I have to tell you that northerns love these things. The surface strikes you get on the floater are just insane!
This is a definite keeper, and a lure that is always onboard.
