Shibui is completely handcrafted from start to finish right here in the U.S.A. using the Genzu Production Standard. Genzu literally means "original drawing", and this production standard means that the original design is completely unique and that each copy is meticulously handcrafted to match the original. Each head is hand cast and individually painted with over 50+ steps, producing a finish that is lifelike, beautiful and extremely durable.

Shibui utilizes our own high resonance, Harmonic Wire Frame that combines the best features of stainless steel and titanium. This "hybrid" wire frame creates a unique vibration like no other wire and holds it's shape well, making it very easy to re-tune. It is extremely durable, making it possible to reduce wire diameter by 12% while maintaining the strength and endurance of a heavier frame.

The Talon Lures Shibui minnow head was designed for lifelike appearance and superior performance. A wide, flat bottom was designed into the head to come through cover upright. Other minnow-style heads are narrow and roll to the side when contacting cover, causing the hook to snag easily. Shibui deflects over cover upright, protecting the hook from snagging and creating a unique "popping" action that draws strikes. A slightly triangular shape was applied to the nose, making it ideal for fishing through hydrilla and other grasses - even coontail.

The eyes are an important element of any prey imitation. Shibui uses lifelike gel filled, color shifting eyes that mimic the lenses of real baitfish. The eye diameter is relative to average baitfish size, adding to the lifelike appearance of the head.

Shibui skirts use soft silicone and are meticulously designed to match the head. Each skirt is hand tied, banded, and then wire wrapped to the head for security. Because skirts are banded, they may be easily changed by snipping the wire and then saved for re-use.
