The 4 inch TRU-LIFE SWIMBAITS are a collaborative design created by Tru-Tungsten and swimbait kings Ish Monroe and Matt Newman. The 4 inch Swimbait comes in two versions. A wake bait that takes 2 balls to become a slow fall bait and a slow fall bait that will take 2 balls to become a fast fall bait to get to those deeper fish. Tru Tungsten Tru-Life Swimbaits have a 4 segment jointed body that creates an incredible life like swimming motion. This matched with Life-like a finish including scales, eyes make this an irresistible bait for lurking bass..

Think twice!
Steve Hrnciar (West Milford, NJ) 11/4/2010 2:15 PM
I was surprised to see so many complimentary reviews on this lure. It was quite the opposite on another website that I deal with. I purchased these lures at BTD at a good price. If I had paid full price I would have returned them. The concept of this lure is terrific but the engineering leaves a little bit to be desired. The lure without the ballast is entirely too light the lure porpoises on retrieve unless it was designed to do that. It does indeed have a nice swimming action. Paint schemes look better on the computer than in your hand. My big gripe with this lure is the PIN. There is no way the lure will last for any length of time repeatedly pulling that pin in and out. I did it once to insert the weights and pushed it in and thrugh the top of the lure and I didn't push hard. I ended up epoxying the top of the lure. Then took the lure out for a second try and on the 3rd cast saw the PIN half way out "not good". Not a good way to start out with a new lure. Overall I would say the lure was not worth much more than what I paid @ 10.00 ea. I would recommend deciding how you like the action with the weights and gluing the pin in place so you don't come up with half a lure. Good hooks and action, sub-par paint and engineering.

great little swimbait
Drew Stephens (thousand oaks, CA) 1/1/2010 10:23 PM
This is by far the smallest hard jointed swimbaits ive seen, the swimming is so good on so small of a bait. You can twitch it, slow roll, and the burn on this bait is incredible no rolling! A good idea is to bent the metal rod slightly that holds the bait together so it doesnt come apart during use.

flat out
Jason Lapinski (Wyoming, MI) 3/4/2009 5:00 PM
This bait flat out catches fish. If you need a quick limit this should be a bait you have tied on. The fact you can easily adjust the weight makes this bait great for most tactics. I also love the fact this bait runs 2 trebles instead of 1. I promise you tie one on and you wont be disappointed. *Try adding larger hooks for getting down a little deeper SBN boomah21

Smallest quality hard swimbait on the market
Michael Carter (Winchester, KY) 2/11/2009 6:21 PM
The trutungsten 4in is the smallest hardswimbait I have seen. Its about the size of a small medium diving crankbait. Not many swimbaits are the right size for 12in bass. I haven't thrown it much but here's what I noticed. It has a great tight action. It doesn't swim it vibrates. The bait doesn't look as good in pictures as it does in person. The paint job while not the best you will see is very solid. The hooks are small but decent just remember you need to throw it on cranking stick not a pool cue. The balls are the best part you don't get 3 sink rates like the bigger trutungsten baits but you get 2 sink rates. The pin is hard to get out so bring some pliers or you wont be able to change sink rates. The biggest knock is the action isn't great at real slow speeds but I fish smaller baits faster and erratic so its not an issue for me. Most smaller swimbaits don't swim as well at slow speeds. Even the fast sinker isn't going to fish real deep but with two bottom trebles do you want it that deep. The 4in is really a different bait and people are still figuring ways to use it. I think it will be a bigger player in tournaments than the smaller baits. If you fish it like a traditional swimbait you will be disappointed but if you understand its more like a spinnerbait or crankbait then it will find a place in you arsenal. It has mine. If your addicted to swimbaits or just getting into it pick one up. My guess is you wont regret it. sb-mrbassky1

Littleton Henderson (Pearland, TX) 2/4/2009 7:10 PM
I Got this in the mail a couple of weeks ago and am finally getting the hang of fishing it. Redfish and trout love this thing! It is not only for fresh water! I love the way it looks in the water!
