While the creature bait may have run full swing this was the bait that started it all. While it is used many ways it excels when flipped or pitched. I keep mine in my flipping box and while I don't use them every trip (I only use green pumpkin) I always have some in the boat. The brush hog excels as anytime you want a larger profile and is especially good for getting the bigger bass. I consider it the soft plastic version of the jig. One application that is also gaining publicity is modifying the brush hog and using it as a football jig trailer. Modifications have always been a big part of this bait as tails have been removed, flaps cut ect. There are many creature baits on the market and I have several but this is one I will always keep with me.
